Strawberry Tiramisu is a delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert, featuring layers of ladyfinger cookies soaked in a tangy strawberry sauce, creamy mascarpone filling, and fresh sliced strawberries. This no-bake dessert is perfect for spring and summer gatherings, offering a refreshing and fruity take on tiramisu that’s easy to prepare and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Strawberry Sauce

  • ⅓ cup strawberry jam
  • 3 Tablespoons water
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Filling

  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Other Ingredients

  • 24 ladyfingers (Savoiardi brand recommended)
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Make Strawberry Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, combine ⅓ cup strawberry jam, 3 tablespoons water, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and well blended to create the soaking liquid for the ladyfingers.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, beat together 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, ½ cup heavy cream, ½ cup sugar, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon lemon zest. Continue beating for about 2 minutes until the mixture is thick, creamy, and has a whipped cream-like consistency.
  3. Dip Ladyfingers: Quickly dip 12 ladyfinger cookies one at a time into the prepared strawberry sauce, ensuring they soak lightly but do not become soggy. Arrange these soaked ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of an 8×8-inch square baking dish or a similar-sized serving dish.
  4. Spread Cream and Strawberries: Evenly spread half of the creamy mascarpone filling over the layer of soaked ladyfingers. Top the cream layer with half of the sliced strawberries, distributing them evenly.
  5. Make a Second Layer: Repeat the process by dipping the remaining 12 ladyfingers into the strawberry sauce and arranging them on top of the strawberries. Spread the remaining mascarpone filling over the second layer of ladyfingers, then top with the remaining sliced strawberries.
  6. Cover and Chill: Cover the baking dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 8 hours or overnight. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld and the dessert to firm up perfectly before serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality mascarpone cheese for the best creamy texture.
  • Do not over-soak the ladyfingers in the strawberry sauce to prevent sogginess.
  • The dessert is best prepared a day ahead to allow full flavor development.
  • Can be garnished with additional fresh strawberries or a dusting of powdered sugar before serving.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, this recipe is perfectly suitable as is.
