This irresistible Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark combines creamy milk chocolate, crunchy pretzels, and luscious caramel into a perfect sweet and salty treat. Easy to make with simple ingredients and microwave melting, this bark is ideal for snacking, gifting, or parties.

Ingredients

Chocolate Base

  • 12 oz Milk Chocolate Chips (can substitute with dark chocolate for a richer flavor)

Bark Structure

  • 8 oz Pretzels (use gluten-free pretzels for a gluten-free version)

Caramel Layer

  • 11 oz Kraft Caramels (can use homemade caramel for a gourmet touch)
  • 2 tbsp Heavy Cream (can be replaced with coconut cream for dairy-free option)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and gather all your ingredients to have everything ready for assembly.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place the milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave at medium power for 30 seconds, then stir until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted. Repeat heating briefly if necessary to avoid burning.
  3. Spread the Chocolate: Pour approximately two-thirds of the melted chocolate onto the lined baking sheet and use a spatula to spread it evenly into a thin layer.
  4. Add the Pretzels: Arrange the pretzels over the melted chocolate, pressing them down gently to ensure they stick but remain intact.
  5. Melt the Caramels: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped Kraft caramels with the heavy cream. Microwave in short bursts, stirring between intervals, until the caramel mixture is completely smooth and pourable.
  6. Top with Remaining Chocolate: Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the caramel-covered pretzels, distributing it evenly to create a layered effect.
  7. Chill to Set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill for 1 to 2 hours, or until the bark is fully set and firm to the touch.
  8. Cut and Serve: Once the bark is set, remove from the refrigerator and cut it into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, substitute regular pretzels with gluten-free pretzels.
  • You can swap milk chocolate chips with dark chocolate for a richer, more intense flavor.
  • To make it dairy-free, replace heavy cream with coconut cream and choose dairy-free caramel.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for up to one week.
  • If you prefer a softer bark, reduce chilling time slightly.
