These Hot Honey Salmon Bites are a perfect blend of sweet and spicy flavors, featuring tender salmon pieces coated with garlic, smoked paprika, and a drizzle of hot honey. Baked to perfection and finished under the broiler for a golden, caramelized finish, they make a delicious and easy appetizer or main dish, ideal for pairing with rice and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 2 pounds salmon fillet with skin on or off, cut into 1-2 inch pieces

Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Glaze

  • 1/4 cup hot honey

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oven and Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  2. Season Salmon: In a large bowl, place the salmon pieces. Drizzle with the extra virgin olive oil and gently stir with a spoon to coat all pieces evenly. Sprinkle garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper over the salmon, then stir gently again to ensure an even distribution of the seasonings.
  3. Bake Salmon: Transfer the seasoned salmon to the prepared baking sheet and arrange in a single layer, making sure the pieces don’t touch each other. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until the salmon is just cooked through.
  4. Add Hot Honey and Broil: Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Using a spatula, carefully push the salmon pieces into a single pile. Drizzle the hot honey over the salmon and stir carefully to coat all pieces with the glaze. Spread the salmon back into a single layer on the baking sheet. Place the baking sheet under the broiler and broil until the salmon is golden brown and caramelized. Watch it closely to avoid burning.
  5. Serve: Remove the salmon bites from the oven and serve hot. These salmon bites pair wonderfully with rice, slices of avocado, cucumber, and can be drizzled with additional honey if you like extra sweetness.

Notes

  • Keep a close eye while broiling as hot honey can burn quickly.
  • Use skin-on salmon if you prefer extra texture; skin can be crisped under the broiler.
  • Adjust the amount of hot honey to taste depending on your spice preference.
  • Serve with fresh veggies or a simple salad for a balanced meal.
  • Leftover salmon bites can be refrigerated and eaten cold or gently reheated.
