A creamy and indulgent coffee-flavored panna cotta that combines the richness of heavy cream with the robust taste of brewed coffee. This elegant Italian dessert is smooth, silky, and perfect for coffee lovers looking for a sophisticated sweet treat.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup brewed strong coffee
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Bloom Gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes spongy and swells fully.
  2. Heat Cream Mixture: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, sugar, brewed coffee, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir continuously until all the sugar has dissolved, making sure the mixture never reaches a boil.
  3. Dissolve Gelatin: Remove the saucepan from heat and add the bloomed gelatin to the mixture. Whisk thoroughly until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth without lumps.
  4. Pour and Chill: Pour the prepared mixture into serving molds or ramekins, leaving a bit of space at the top. Place them in the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours, allowing the panna cotta to set firmly.
  5. Serve: To serve, briefly dip the bottom of each mold into hot water to loosen the dessert. Invert onto serving plates and garnish with whipped cream or chocolate shavings for enhanced flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • Ensure the mixture does not boil to prevent curdling and to maintain smooth texture.
  • Strong brewed coffee enhances the coffee flavor but adjust to taste.
  • Gelatin must be fully dissolved to avoid graininess in the panna cotta.
  • For a vegetarian alternative, use agar-agar instead of gelatin, adjusting quantities accordingly.
  • Serve chilled for best texture and flavor.
