This Easy Crockpot Buffalo Chicken Dip is a creamy, spicy, and cheesy appetizer perfect for game day or parties. Made with shredded canned chicken, cream cheese, buffalo hot sauce, ranch dressing, and cheddar cheese, it’s slow-cooked to melty perfection and served warm with chips or veggies.

Ingredients

Buffalo Chicken Dip Ingredients

  • 4 cups canned chicken, drained (approximately two large cans)
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup buffalo hot sauce
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Ensure the cream cheese is softened for easy mixing. Drain the canned chicken thoroughly and break it into smaller pieces using a fork to ensure even distribution in the dip.
  2. Layer Base Ingredients: Spread the softened cream cheese evenly in the bottom of the slow cooker insert. Add the drained, flaked chicken on top of the cream cheese layer to create an even base.
  3. Add Sauces and Mix: Pour the buffalo hot sauce and ranch dressing over the chicken and cream cheese. Stir thoroughly to combine all the ingredients into a smooth, well-coated mixture.
  4. Add Cheese Topping: Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the dip mixture in the slow cooker to create a cheesy layer.
  5. Cook Slowly: Place the lid on the slow cooker and set it to LOW heat. Cook the dip for 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring once around 30 minutes before the end to ensure even heating. The dip should be bubbly and the cheese melted on top.
  6. Serve Warm: Serve the buffalo chicken dip warm directly from the slow cooker with your favorite dippers such as tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrots, or baguette slices for dipping.

Notes

  • Use canned chicken for convenience or substitute with cooked shredded chicken breast.
  • For a spicier dip, increase the amount of buffalo hot sauce or add cayenne pepper.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the dip.
  • Stirring during cooking ensures the dip heats evenly and prevents burning on the edges.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the microwave or slow cooker.
